The 47th president of the United States will be Donald Trump. After a tightly contested presidential race, the former president and Republican nominee has emerged victorious with an electoral vote of 295 to Democratic nominee Kamala Harris’ 226 electoral college votes. Two states, Nevada and Arizona, are still in the process of vote counting but Trump is leading both states by a sizeable margin. “This will truly be the golden age of America,” President-elect Trump said. “This is a magnificent victory for the American people that will allow us to make America great again.” Whether you support the results of this election or not, one thing remains clear: the country and the rest of the world will be heavily affected by how these next 4 years pan out.
