Imagine walking into a room full of warmth of fellowship, the sound of uplifting conversations, and the shared purpose of spreading kindness and faith. This is the experience for members of San Marino High School’s ACTS club, where students come together to make a positive impact through their shared Christian values.
ACTS launched their club at the beginning of the school year with food, introductions to the members, and a mission to spread the word of Jesus. Their club is centered around the story of Jesus Christ and their mission is to spread the gospel to other students. Their meetings are held in the College and Career Center during lunch.
This year, their main focus is on teaching the specific core ideas of their faith. They have 8 cycles, with them starting with cycle 1 on September 10th. Their meetings usually consist of free food, such as chicken wings, pretzels, and pizza.
Besides their teachings, they also have guest speakers come to talk to the members of the club, such as the renowned lead pastor of Epicentre Church, John Lo, as well as a former Navy veteran who has planted Churches around the world, Nick Boyer.
The president of the ACTS club this year is a senior named Caleb Newton. Newton’s unwavering dedication to the club is admirable, as well as the amount of time and energy he puts into each meeting he hosts. Zachery Fong, a sophomore, is the vice-president of the ACTS club; he has a passion for sharing the word of Christ with others, and inspires all of the members with his energy, creativity, and dedication.
Their final meeting for 2024 is on December 16th, which ends their teachings of the 8 cycles of Christ. This year, the ACTS club has been impactful in the San Marino community, making changes and spreading the word of God to students. With the conclusion of their club for the 2024-2025 school year, members are left feeling refreshed and lifted by the spirit of Jesus Christ.
