On March 7th, 2025, the auditorium filled with excitement for the annual spring assembly. The event featured a variety of performances from both the Varsity and Junior Varsity cheer teams, The Dance Company (DCO), and the band. All Spring Varsity sports teams went onstage to introduce their teams and goals for this upcoming season. These spring sports included boys’ baseball, boys and girls track, boys and girls swim, boy’s tennis, girls’ softball, coed badminton, and boys’ golf. One member from each team was chosen to participate in an interactive relay race. The different events in the relay race included getting a cookie into your mouth from your forehead without touching it, a “magic carpet race” across the stage, and also hopping on one foot across the aisle to pop a balloon. This game created friendly competition among the students playing and also the audience.
Not only did the varsity athletes get to play, but students also had the chance to take part in games. ASB selected volunteers from the crows to play Jeopardy and charades. This added an interactive element to the assembly. To conclude the event, ASB announced the Spring Fling dance, scheduled for March 22 in the school foyer. This year’s theme was revealed to be Tangled, and tickets were made available for purchase online. This is the first year the school is hosting a Spring Fling dance which students can look forward to.
Lydia Lu, 11, shared the ups and downs of the assembly: “I really enjoyed watching the DCO and band performances. I am always amazed by their talent and their unique routines. One downside was that my friend’s chair broke during the assembly, and she fell to the floor. We all had to move down a seat, which was kind of sad.”
