Mr. Jones brings dedication and advocacy to his role as a special education teacher, making it clear to students that his classroom is a safe space where they are supported no matter the outcome of a test, assignment, or quiz. His priority is ensuring students know he always has their back and that he is there to advocate for them.
A graduate of Monrovia High School, Mr. Jones continued his education at East L.A. College, where he played football. He later earned his teaching credential at Cal State L.A. and pursued his career in education.
Mr. Jones shares openly that he graduated high school with a low GPA but still went on to find success as both a student and a teacher. He hopes this encourages students to believe in themselves and recognize that their current challenges don’t define their future. “I am an advocate for them, and I always have their back,” Mr. Jones said.
Outside the classroom, Mr. Jones is a dad who enjoys watching kids’ movies with his family. Among his favorites are Pixar’s Inside Out. When asked which he preferred, he said the first one, although the second still moved him to tears.
With his commitment to student success, supportive teaching philosophy, and approachable personality, Mr. Jones is ready to make a lasting impact on our school community.
