Dr. Hill joins our school’s leadership team with a background as both a science teacher and an administrator. She understands firsthand the challenges of juggling academics, athletics, and extracurriculars, and she is dedicated to supporting students in building skills that go beyond the classroom.
A Long Beach native, Dr. Hill attended Long Beach Poly High School, where she swam competitively and participated in speech, debate, and mock trial. She went on to earn her undergraduate degree in chemistry and math at Pepperdine University, where she also discovered her love of physics. Later, she earned her master’s and doctorate in educational leadership from Cal State Fullerton.
Though she is no longer in the classroom, Dr. Hill’s teaching philosophy remains the same: learning should give students both knowledge and life skills that prepare them for the future. Her motto, for which she has a sign in her office, guides her everyday life. “Work hard and be nice to people,” Dr. Hill said.
Outside of her career in education, Dr. Hill was a circus performer until the age of five, riding elephants while her father worked as a tiger and elephant trainer. As for favorites, she recommends The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, a book that reminds readers to enjoy the journey instead of focusing only on the destination.
With her experience, philosophy, and approachable leadership style, Dr. Hill is eager to support students and staff in achieving their goals.
